Geological prospecting

Exploration and exploration of fresh drinking, mineral, thermal and technical groundwater

  The company UA-Systems performs a full complex of hydrogeological works on prospecting and exploration of fresh drinking, mineral, thermal and technical groundwater. The works are carried out in accordance with:

  • The Subsoil Code of Ukraine;

  • Water Code of Ukraine;

  • Regulations on the stages of exploration for groundwater (hydrogeological works). Order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine of July 16, 2001 N 260;

  • Instructions for the application of the “Classification of mineral resources and resources of the State Subsoil Fund to drinking and technical groundwater deposits”. Order of SCC of Ukraine No. 23 dated February 4, 2000

  • DBN V.2.5-74: 2013 Water supply. Basic design principles;

  • DSANPIN 2.2.4-171-10 Hygienic requirements for drinking water intended for human consumption;

  • SOU 73.1-41-02.05.01: 2008 Drinking and technical groundwater. Preparation of technological schemes for field development.

Hydrogeological exploration for the purpose of groundwater exploration and exploration includes the following types of works:

  • Collection, analysis and synthesis of materials on the hydrogeological study of the area. Preparation of the geological task and its coordination with the Customer.

  • Preparation and support of documents required for state registration of works and research related to geological exploration of subsoil (RDWHW) in the State Geograsses of Ukraine (Order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine of 14.06.2013 under No. 263).

  • Hydrogeological and sanitary-ecological survey of the territory of the existing water intake.

  • Drawing up a project of hydrogeological works to carry out prospecting, exploration, or exploration of groundwater reserves.

  • Hydrogeological and sanitary-ecological survey of the territory of the existing water intake.

  • Drilling of hydrogeological wells.

  • Geophysical studies of wells.

  • Filtration and water sampling for laboratory analysis.

  • Laboratory analyzes of water samples.

  • Commercial processing of field materials. Groundwater reserves calculation. Building a 3D Modflow model. Reporting.

  • Protection of groundwater reserves in SCC of Ukraine.

  • Design of materials for special permission for geological exploration and use of subsoil.

Hydrogeological monitoring, creation of a system of drainage structures and drainage, a network of observation hydrogeological wells in the areas of development of hydrocarbon fields, mine fields, quarries, tailings and ash dump

The work includes:

  • preparation of design estimates and approval with the customer;

  • examination of the project;

  • drilling of hydrogeological wells;

  • carrying out pilot and trial pumping and filling;

  • groundwater sampling for laboratory testing;

  • conducting regime observations and studying the hydrological regime of groundwater;

  • building a 3D hydrogeological model on the Modflow platform, developing hydrodynamic scenarios, forecasting the consequences of technological measures;  

  • development of a plan of technological measures, preparation of a report;

  • hydrogeological-environmental monitoring;

  • creation of a system of drainage structures and drainage;

  • creation of an anti-filtration veil.

Development of design estimates and exploration, exploration and further exploration of oil and natural gas reserves.

  UA-Systems performs a full range of oil and gas exploration activities. In the process of project preparation, field work, laboratory and pilot-operational research, creation of geological and technological model of the field, writing a report and approval of hydrocarbon reserves in the SCC of Ukraine our company is guided by:

Engineering and geological survey

UA-Systems performs a complete set of engineering-geological surveys in the areas.

    ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION   FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

The work is carried out in accordance with DBN A.2.1-1-2014. The work includes:

  • analysis of archival materials;

  • preparation of design estimates and approval with the customer;

  • examination of the project;

  • drilling of engineering and geological wells;

  • conducting field tests of the soil;

  • pilot hydrogeological investigations;

  • sampling of disturbed soil, monoliths and groundwater for laboratory physico-mechanical and chemical studies;

  • field geophysical studies to identify areas with unfavorable geological characteristics, identify underground trails, communications and other objects;

  • laboratory studies of soil and groundwater;

  • study of the hydrological regime of groundwater;

  • drawing up a report.

AND GENERAL-GEOLOGICAL RESEARCH PURPOSES:

estimation and prognosis of the consequences of dangerous geological processes: flooding, landslides, karst, suffusion.

The work includes:

  • preparation of design estimates and approval with the customer;

  • examination of the project;

  • carrying out specialized geophysical researches;

  • drilling of experimental and observational hydrogeological wells;

  • carrying out pilot and trial pumping and filling;

  • selection of groundwater for laboratory testing;

  • conducting regime observations and studying the hydrological regime of groundwater;

  • instrumental monitoring of geological process markers;

  • construction of 3D dynamic object model;

  • drawing up a report.

 

Modeling of hydrogeological processes

Processing Modflow is a specialized tool used by hydrogeologists around the world, including UA-Systems experts , to create detailed groundwater flow models to display complex hydrodynamic and hydrochemical information in a more accessible form.

Processing Modflow offers a wide range of functions and includes many components, each of which is designed to perform certain operations. The application allows you to use models created using numerous three-dimensional versions of MODFLOW , including MODFLOW-96, MODFLOW-2000, MODFLOW-2005 and MODFLOW-NWT. Modflow processing includes a wide range of simulation files and packages designed to solve a variety of problems. These include MT3DMS, SEAWAT, RT3D, PHT3D and PEST.

  • MT3DMS is a modular three-dimensional transport model used to model advection, dispersion and chemical reactions.

  • SEAWAT is a program for modeling of three-dimensional variable groundwater flow.

  • RT3D is a transport model based on MT3DMS that helps to simulate different scenarios.

  • The PHT3D is a multi-component transport model for three-dimensional jet flow in saturated porous media. PHT3D is a combination of MT3DMS and PHREEQC-2. The PHREEQC component allows the simulation of various low temperature aqueous geochemical reactions.

  • PEST is a package designed for parameter estimation and uncertainty analysis in computer models, allowing model calibration.

UA-Systems actively uses modeling of hydrogeological processes using Modflow to calculate groundwater reserves, predict the flow of ash dumps and tailings ponds, calculate water depletion and filter curtains.

Construction of wells for drinking water

UA-Systems performs a full range of construction works for drinking water wells.

Drinking water well construction is performed accordingly:

The work includes:

  • drawing up a geological task and contract;

  • drawing up a project for construction of a water well (if necessary);

  • support of the project with all necessary permits and approval documents (if necessary);

  • well drilling for water;

  • geophysical studies of the well to determine the filter installation interval (if necessary);

  • equipment of a well with a conductor and technical columns (if necessary);

  • trumpet cementing (if necessary);

  • wells of the filter column;

  • gravel shattering of filters;

  • borehole swabbing (if necessary);

  • flushing the well with clean water;

  • well equipment with a lifting pump;

  • land reclamation after drilling;

  • organization of zones of sanitary protection.

Drilling and equipment of the production well is carried out in accordance with the project, the requirements of the geological task, the tasks assigned by the Customer on the quantity and quality of water extracted, the depth of occurrence of the prospective aquifer horizon drilling rigs МГБУ-100, УГБ-1ВС, УРБ-3АМ, 1БА. Depths of production wells from 20 to 850m. The diameter of the filter column is 89-168mm.

Exploration for and exploration for solid minerals

UA-Systems performs a full cycle of exploration for solid minerals, from design and field research, to processing, analysis of field materials, reporting and stockpiling at the SCC of Ukraine. According to the data of the exploration: geological structure of the deposit, patterns of spatial position, conditions of occurrence, shape, size and structure of mineral deposits, the quantity and quality of mineral resources in the subsoil, its technological properties and factors that determine the conditions for further operational work.

Exploration works are performed accordingly:

  • The Code of Ukraine on subsoil;

  • The Law of Ukraine “On the State Geological Service”;

  • Mining law of Ukraine;

  • Regulations on the stages of exploration for solid minerals;

  • Regulations on the procedure for conducting state examination and evaluation of mineral resources;

  • Qualification of mineral resources and resources;

  • Instructions on the content, design and procedure for submission of materials of geological and economic estimates of metallic and non-metallic minerals to the State Commission for the Reserves of Minerals;

  • Instructions on the content, design and procedure for submission to the SCC of Ukraine of materials on geological and economic assessment of coal reserves and shale,

  • and other regulations.

Gas-geochemical studies

UA-Systems performs a complete set of gas-geochemical investigations and detection of excess concentrations in the surface groundwater of hydrocarbons, helium, carbon dioxide, radon, torone and other areas:

  • underground gas storage facilities;

  • oil, gas and gas condensate fields;

  • oil and gas exploration areas;

  • construction sites;

  • areas of technogenic pollution.

The work includes designing, drilling, field geochemical studies, laboratory analyzes of gas, water and soil, and reporting.

Geological, technological and gas hydrodynamic studies

Gas-hydrodynamic studies of exploration and production wells in natural gas production

 

  UA-Systems performs gas-hydrodynamic studies under steady-state and non-steady-state filtration to study processes that flow continuously in the reservoir and wellbore during gas production.

  Under steady-state filtration, measurements of flow, discharge, downhole and reservoir pressure and temperature are performed gradually, increasing the flow rate and then reducing it. As a result of measurements and their analytical processing, the permeability and porosity of the reservoir, the characteristics of the bottomhole zone, the degree and nature of autopsy, the skin effect are calculated.

  Investigations in the conditions of the unsteady filtration mode are performed by measuring the values ​​of the pressure recovery after the stop of the well, or the pressure drop from the beginning of its start. The results of analytical processing allow to obtain the characteristics of the entire well drainage area.

 All measurements are performed by a mobile gas hydrodynamic installation using a multiphase flowmeter WG-ONT and a separator. Observing the results of the release of solid particles and liquids from the gas, and their accumulation in conditions of variable flow rate, the depression of the beginning of fracture formation and the flow of water into the well is determined. The maximum permissible depression is thus determined.
